CONSUMING YOUR FUTURE

I never get off budget, because I never set one!

At 50 years of age, one of my friends retired.  Wow, it blow my hair back, and I’m bald.  When asked how he did it, he said, “I always planned not to work. ”  It almost seemed as if the job just got in the way of his retirement for a few years.  To be clear, he made a conscious decision to plan for an early retirement and he did just that!   What’s your plan?

Recommendation:

  1. Practice conscious/active money  management (learn basics – advance skills)
  2. Learn basic financial strategies, including short/long-term investing
  3. Get a financial planner
  4. And move away from negative credit transaction (e.g., the more consumer debt you have, the further your retirement is in the distance)
  5. To paraphrase, “You can pay you now or you will pay for it later!” –  Fran (by Gibbism)

p.s., Consuming your future may leave you feeling hungover!
