AN “I” IN TRUTH: INTEGRITY
If dirty deeds are all around you, check the integrity of the root?
If the root of truth is rotten, soiled is its fruit!
Biden may tell you his “truth” and Trump a truth may tell,
But their truths may not be “the truth” or where the real truth dwells!
Like me, you may have your foibles, lies, omissions and a variety pack called self-excuse!
And, like me, you have your voice of reason, which may be further from “the truth.”
In any case, we live in a time where truth seems to be the only one on trial,
But the truth must be the truth, not a fragile fad going in and out of style.
Remember, if dirty deeds are all around, it is a good sign of what’s within.
Likewise, real truth, like real dirt, attracts a certain fruit of friends
Still, integrity is not about Biden or Trump, not red states or blue.
Integrity is not the USA, it’s “We The People,” self-accountable, integrity is me and you!
p.s., Just because the “I” in truth is silent (e.g., Integrity is just you and God), you shouldn’t be!
“WE HOLD THESE TRUTHS TO BE SELF-EVIDENT…” is not a question!
… but who we follow is: “…CHOOSE YOU THIS DAY WHOM YE WILL SERVE…” (Joshua 24:15)
